Yaochun Shen, Professor of University of Liverpool Visited CCT

On the afternoon of June 22, at the invitation of Shenzhen Institute of Terahertz Technology and Innovation (SITTI), Professor Shen Yaochun, Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, University of Liverpool, visited China Communication Technology (CCT). CCT Vice President and SITTI Executive President Ding Qing, Dr. Pan Yi, Dr. Yang Bin, Dr. Dong Rui, and director Zhang Yandong gave a warm reception.

At the meeting, Zhang Yandong, director of the Integrated Management of SITTI, gave a brief introduction to the basic situation of CCT and SITTI. Dr. Pan Yi gave a detailed introduction to the research and development work of the Terahertz Spectroscopy and Imaging Research Center; Dr. Yang Bin reported the research and development work of Terahertz Communication Center; Dr. Dong Rui introduced the Terahertz Radiation and Detection Center. Professor Shen highly praised SITTI has achieved countless rich fruits and aggregated a galaxy of talents in just one and a half years, praised the high efficiency of enterprises. Subsequently, Professor Shen also shared their team's recent scientific research achievements, showing the emerging foreign university research strength and the spirit of innovation. These outstanding works with a new perspective led to the participants of the enthusiastic interaction and discussion, so that participants benefited greatly. This exchange is an open field of vision, expanding the thinking of learning opportunity.

After the exchange, Professor Shen and Ding Qing discussed in detail for the cooperation opportunities, hoping that both sides give full play to their respective advantages to form complementary resources, to carry out all-round, wide area, deep and high level strategic cooperation, to achieve win-win cooperation.

Shen Yaochun was born in Jiangyin, Jiangsu province. He received his doctorate from Nanjing University. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Southeast University and later taught at Southeast University. Shen has two times won the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress award. Currently, he is professor of University of Liverpool, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Departmental Laser Safety Officer, Faculty Academic Quality Standard Committee (FAQSC) Representative, American Optical Society (Member), visiting professor of  College of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Fuzhou University.
